Beta Delta - Spring 2019

A big thing that aKDPhi has helped me with is building my network, both socially and professionally. On one hand, aKDPhi has given me my beautifully quirky line sisters and my thoughtful and caring bigs. I know I can always talk to them and count on them to listen as well as provide advice and support. Plus, I can always count on them to make me laugh with their goofiness.

On the other hand, it was aKDPhi that also introduced me to my current job as a pharmacy technician. This has not only strengthened my resume, but has also helped me build more connections with people in the field that I hope to have a career in one day.

Beta Delta - Spring 2019

To me, aKDPhi is unconditional love and support.

It is so easy for one to feel lost as a college student who is still trying to figure out what they want to do in life, and without the right people to help them get through that stage of adulthood, that feeling will only continue to grow. While I also experience this feeling as I make my way through my undergraduate years, I have my sisters who are always there to remind me that they are proud of me and help me realize that with every obstacle I face, I am only learning and growing into a better person. Instead of feeling defeated every time something doesn’t go the way I expect it to, I’m now more confident in my ability to get back on track and overcome those setbacks.

Why aKDPhi?

Never once have I felt like I didn’t have a shoulder to lean on, and I am beyond grateful to have aKDPhi as my support system.

Beta Gamma - Fall 2018

When I was a freshman at UT, I yearned to find my home away from home. As cliche as it sounds, I am thankful to have found that home with aKDPhi. As someone with a chronic illness, it was difficult to reach out to others for fear of being judged. However, everyday, I am surrounded with everlasting love from people who accept me for who I am. These girls constantly support me and lift me up when I am feeling down.

Why aKDPhi?

Their support creates a safe environment in which I am unafraid to reach out for help whether it be a medical or academic obstacle. The relationships that I’ve built in aKDPhi have aided in shaping my personal growth as well as help me develop a sense of belonging here at UT Austin.

Although I seem like a reserved person, my sisters can bring out that craziest side of me. I’ve never met a more kind, supportive, and easy-going group of girls to create memories with now and the many years to come. Without aKDPhi, I would not be the person I am today. In the future, I hope to give back to aKDPhi as much as they have given to me.
