Despereaux #396
Beta Gamma - Fall 2018

When I was a freshman at UT, I yearned to find my home away from home. As cliche as it sounds, I am thankful to have found that home with aKDPhi. As someone with a chronic illness, it was difficult to reach out to others for fear of being judged. However, everyday, I am surrounded with everlasting love from people who accept me for who I am. These girls constantly support me and lift me up when I am feeling down.
Why aKDPhi?
Their support creates a safe environment in which I am unafraid to reach out for help whether it be a medical or academic obstacle. The relationships that I’ve built in aKDPhi have aided in shaping my personal growth as well as help me develop a sense of belonging here at UT Austin.
Although I seem like a reserved person, my sisters can bring out that craziest side of me. I’ve never met a more kind, supportive, and easy-going group of girls to create memories with now and the many years to come. Without aKDPhi, I would not be the person I am today. In the future, I hope to give back to aKDPhi as much as they have given to me.
